Accelerating the right to Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) Services for women and girls in Zambia’ Project

This is part of a regional advocacy campaign to improve the sexual and reproductive health status of women and girls by increasing country level responses to SRH rights, thus creating a path way to decreased maternal mortality, reduced HIV infection rates and improved access to SRH information, education and services for women and girls. WLSA Zambia implements and coordinates this


 

advocacy campaign project through a coalition of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) working around and having interest in advancing the sexual and reproductive health and rights of women and girls. The coalition is comprised of CSOs of diverse strengthens and skills in media, sexual and reproductive health and rights, lobbying and advocacy, tradition and culture, human rights, action research and policy analysis. The Project is regionally coordinated by Amanitare Sexual Rights network through support from the European Commission and Oxfam Novib.The advocacy campaign project is aimed at strengthening the capacity by CSOs to advocate for improved access to SRHR Knowledge, information, education and services and enhanced implementation by governments of their national, regional and international commitments to realise their obligations to women and girls in relation to SRHR issues.The Zambian campaign will focus on increasing access to family planning information, services and products, especially for single women, women living with HIV and women with disabilities aged 16 to 35 years old.Action research and policy advocacy for a National Reproductive Health Policy Project

Action research and policy advocacy for a National Reproductive Health

This Project is aimed at improving the sexual and reproductive health status of women and girls in Zambia, by increasing country level responses to Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) through the participatory implementation of an integrated National Reproductive Health Policy. This policy engagement project is supported by the Zambian Governance Foundation (ZGF).

The project will generate research-based empirical data that will contribute to the improved sexual and reproductive health status of women and girls and work with a coalition of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) to influence government to fulfil its obligations to women by formulating and implementing a national reproductive health policy in line with regional and international commitments and recognise and effectively address the pertinent SRHR issues.

Action research for integrated Sexual and Reproductive Healthand HIV programmes and services in Zambia

The project is aimed at tracking Round 8 Global Fund grants for the provision integrated Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRH) / HIV services and supplies through tracking the budget allocations and expenditures for the provision ofSRH/HIV integrated services and supplies financed through the Round 8 Global Fund grants; to develop and strengthen relationships with civil society organizations working on expenditure tracking for sharing of skills and best practicesand to document and disseminate best practices and lessons learnt in budget monitoring and expenditure tracking of the Round 8 Global Fund Grant for RH / HIV integrated programming in Zambia by September, 2012. This is expected to create advocacy work that will influen


 

ce an increase in Global Fund grant and other Global Health Initiatives allocation to the provision of integrated SRH/HIV services and supplies. This project is implemented in coordination with coalition member organizations in partnership with Population Action International through The Integration Partnership aimed at Promoting reproductive health to prevent HIV
